Alternator(With Vacuum Pump)attached to the rear it makes no noise its not a piston or diaphragm type rather a rotor disc type (like in your vacuum cleaner)
it has a one way valve and spring regulator so you don't loose vacuum when it stopped , alternator is not used unless you want to rig it up to only work when braking to help recharge your 12v system you can
also use your Impulse 9 motor to recharge your main
batteries under braking to as in(regenerative braking)

A vacuum pump designed to generate vacuum for
braking is directly connected to the alternator.main shaft and uses very little energy to run in fact it would be hard to measure
This type is mainly used for diesel engines.
Small in sized , a large output of vacuum and
low level of noise
Vacuum Pump
Vacuum pump is installation that make vacuum generated by spinning rotor ( like in your vacuum cleaner)This vacuum is used for the brake system.

So, where can a buy an EV in Brisbane?

Moreover, what is the legality of EV's in Queensland?

I'd love to get my hands on a Tesla.

Good luck with overcoming the Oil sector's contempible lobbying efforts to prohibit EV's.

Hi every one check this site out http://www.evcapri.com/
I to want to build a electric car and loved your video's , I also want to do my bit for our planet . So far I have 1.2 kw of solar cells on my roof an electric bike a small car and a 50cc scooter to get me to work but an electric car is my next project, I will be watching your progress with interest.
A couple of ideas of mine !! 1 would use the warm air from your Impulse 9 motor through a filter for your demister heater buy making a cowling and deviating that air to your heater demister via a 90mm PVC deverter valve ( this could be operated by the car controls vacum or cable )making shore not to restrict the air flow from the Impulse 9 motor (on hot air, off cold air) 2 rather than have an electric vacum pump which will eat up your battries ,I would use mechanical 1 from diesel 4x4 or car the are usually mounted on the back of the alternators and drive it from the rear of your Impulse 9 motor via a pully and fan belt.

Hope all goes well MARK
PS Hyundai use an electric power steering PUMP which may be useful

Hi Peter, good on you for making the effort to get some information out there and get people thinking and talking about this very important evolution in our beloved mode of transport. I firmly believe that with investment and a campaign of good information the already promising area of EV technology can be vastly improved and this will be invaluable for the planet.
I am very interested in either purchasing an EV or converting my 96 Barina and powering it from both solar and wind power at my home. (These are projects in the planning stage).
I wish you all the best with your endeavours and look forward to reading more developments and opinions on your site!

P.S. I would be interested in chatting with Jeremy if Gatton is not too far from Brisbane.

Being an ex tradesperson and retired, I have been looking for a hobby, I have spent the last two or three years doing computers, Now my interest has changed and I am into electric Vehicles. Now this is a real challenge i feel the excitement building inside me. In this technological age I know that major progress is due, And it will eventuate
24 maybe 25 with my response over a two year period ? not good Maybe a couple of Blogs with links would help Peter. I welcome you to print my email address for anyone genuinely interested in EVs to contact me and anything of Interest I will link back to here.
Regards Mike

Hi Manish,
Your comments are well apreciated. While the so called developed nations talk a lot about climate change and pollution control they are yet not free off the yoke off Oil Barons and therefore their governments lack the guts to confront them and fail to support inventors and entreprenuers who have already made electric cars and engines that run on compressed air. The Tatas have already signed a MOU with a french company for cars that will run on compressed air Till then they can bask in the glory of the Nano. If you are the guy who was in Vickers Pune please reply.

Could you let me know what initiatives are being used to lobby the government to change legislation as such that electric cars can be imported. As this seems to be the major bottle-neck for mass introduction of the electric car into the community?

Hi Peter,

Great website ! I saw the pluginamerica website and wanted to create an Aussie version then i thought id see if one existed and voila!

I believe this website could be used to co-ordinate political and research activity just like the US one is, lets make a sticker, a petition and a few modern demos of what we are promoting and campain to the relevent people, organizations and gov departments.

1. Eventually we could aim for a CO2/polution scaled part of rego similar to Germany and other countries ( where rego on a gas guzzling V8 cost triple the rego of a frugal 1.8l) this would give lower emitting electric/hybrids , LP gas cars a runing cost advantage.

2. Government bodies and organizations could have plugin fleets to promote and test the concept. At fleet levels the savings would be greater.

3. A rebate similar to the LPG rebate in Qld could apply to Hybrid and Plugin Hybrids and pure electrics - this would promote new purchases and conversions of Prius' etc. A heavy vehicle rebate would also create oportunity in places where heavy vehicles could use electic power (airports, where houses, busses etc)

Heres some ideas - \personaly I want to start converting Priuses to plugin as a start, then creating companies to generate renewable power localy in the cities to power fleets, this is common in Germany/ Austria etc.

Perhas some new sectios of the website could deal with areas such as Programs, Research/development, Prototypes & production and Implementation.

Lets get a comprehensive and researched overview of current technology, research and programs in Australia!

Cheers Guys and great initiative Peter

Jeremy Gilmore

PS i live in brisbane and would love to meet others in the area with ideas, vehicles, businesses, renewable investment plans ect

Hi Peter,
love the site just wish more people would check it out then maybe they would be more aware of the state of the world.
We are on a slow path to destruction that is gaining speed, these oil barons need to stop thinking about lining there pockets,if theres no earth where are they going to get there money from wish they would think about that.
Being in the organic industry many years(biodynamic) mainly I have met many interesting people of like mind,we are all joining together but is it to late?
On a happier note there are many spiritual groups working on these problems we have, with love and understanding we can teach by example to those that do care about the way our earth is going, teach them what they need to do as an individual to help the planet.
*Peace and Happiness*

Hi Peter,

I like your mission. I think economics will win the war. Petrol needs to become so expensive that change in no longer a choice but a way to survive. How about this for an idea. If the state government gave a 100% rebate on car sales tax and registration for electric vehicles. People would spend almost anything to take money from the government. As for the cars. When will a $20,000AU be available?
